Although short, this little tale speaks volumes. In a society where progress and constant furthering of knowledge is pushed, I think this book serves as a wonderful reminder to take a step back to focus on what really matters in life. Many fools are disguised as smart, boasting about their degrees and what seems like an abundance of facts, ideas, and ideologies swirling about their brains, but can also possess no true knowledge of the wisdom presented in this tale. I’m not saying education is harmful, but there is more to life than obtaining a degree, getting that job, or having that cool car. This shows the power of love and how the vice of curiosity can hamper us from seeing what is truly meaningful in life.
