Fables: Werewolves of the Heartland
by Bill Willingham
Easily my least favourite Fables story. The art wasn’t to my taste. The story could’ve been done well but felt flat and contrived (I also disliked that Bigby’s WWII antics were sullied by this story, along with the fact that a British ally took up with a literal Nazi). Finally, what’s up with the werewolf dicks? This isn’t Sorry to Bother You (despite the fact that this GN obviously predates that film).
Oh, and by the way, dubious consent moment featured quite early on... in which Bigby is allegedly “tempted” by a woman who is decidedly not Snow White. I know this is a real thing people experience in marriage, but it seemed exceedingly out of character for him... he brushed women off left, right and centre even before he was with Snow, so this just seemed strange and rather disappointing.
