ylbirda 's review for:
The Queen's Gambit
by Walter Tevis
Even though I've watched the series first, it was really enjoyable to read the book. The pace was good, the story was narrated well and the character of Beth was nicely crafted.
I slightly regret not reading the book before the series, but I'm really impressed with the series, because except of two instances, they stayed very true to the book and translated it beautifully to the screen.
At times, the challenge seemed too easy for Beth, and at other times, is all seemed to difficult - especially her relationship to men.
