Think “Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium” but way more bookish and with historical context. Finally a book that makes good on its claim to be for book lovers.
Before I was even halfway through reading this book I just knew I needed to slow down and read it sparingly, like the last piece of chocolate you want to savor every minute of. I would have been done with it much sooner but I really wanted it to last and was sad to have to see it end.
Such an original and engaging story, I was not able to see the twists and turns coming. Endearing and well fleshed-out characters that take you on their journeys with them as though you are side by side. Not all questions are answered by the end, but I think that is the beauty of the mystery of it all. I don’t feel as though I have been left on a cliffhanger, just that I would like to live in this bookshop and watch the new stories unfold.
