The Return of Rafe MacKade by Nora Roberts

5.0

Urgh so sexy, Nora Roberts at her best! Rafe, our dark, dangerous, and dreamy love interest is so appealing, and often I get a bit of a queasy feeling with some of these dark/dangerous men, they feel vaguely wife 'beat-ery' sometimes, which is not my favourite thing to overlook in romances. But Nora knows just how to write a dream man, and Rafe was it. I also greatly appreciated the consistency in character traits, as the Regan and Rafe we met at the beginning were the same as the end, with just gentle adjustments, as the love changes each of them. I also loved that Regan stands up for herself right throughout, even when she doesn't start melting for Rafe; she constantly defends herself. She is a good friend to other women, something not always seen in romance novels when an author is desperate to make their character 'unique' they resort to 'not like other girls' - not Nora Roberts though!
