Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston

2.0

This is the second time I read this book the first time was in high school. I read this for a book club and for that I think I would have DNF it. Literary fiction is not really my thing and I get the cultural significance of this book, especially at a time when a black female author was a rare thing. That being said I cannot get into this book. I really agree with John Green that “books should be fun” as reading is a hobby. I did not have fun reading this book. If literary fiction is your deal read Sula by Toni Morrison instead. I loved that book.
