Berserk, Vol. 18 by Kentaro Miura

4.25

It has been a couple of weeks since I last read Berserk, but my online loans are going to be returned tomorrow so I figure time to pick it back up again. Some very interesting developments in terms of character and overall plot, I am intrigued to see where things end up going.

2024 reread
Not gonna lie, the torture dungeon right after I ate dinner got me pretty good. I think it's the most grossed out I've felt reading Berserk. Guess I'm not super in the mindset for extreme violence this evening. The lore drops this volume were insane
with the return of Skull Knight and the fact that Griffith/Femto is trying to recreate the Eclipse to reincarnate himself. The twink simply refuses to die or leave Guts alone.
and I do feel like I am following the overall plot and such more clearly on this reread, which is good. Also we got to meet Isidro and see more of Farnese and Serpico and the Holy See which is always fun (and mildly horrifying, as is tradition for Berserk)
