We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal
5.0
**Actual Rating: 4.5⭐️**
So this book has a SUPER SLOW build up - but it’s worth it! It honestly took me a while to warm up at any of the characters, but I absolutely loved them by the end. The worldbuilding was done so well, and hardly any of it (If at all) was expositional. I really enjoyed the weaving of Arabic words throughout, it really immerses you within this world.
In WHTF we have two protagonists; Zafira, a Demenhune Huntress who can walk straight into the Arz unharmed - a dark forest that looms over her home. And Nasir, the prince of death who I found unlikeable until towards the end. The side characters were also amazing, Altair was basically a comedic genius, and his relationship growth with Nasir is both hilarious and warming.
This book was crafted so well, and I can’t wait for the sequel!
