The Queen's Resistance
by Rebecca Ross
I have been highly anticipating this book for 12 months and now I’ve finished it! Sadly, I don’t think there will be any more books in this world :(
I really enjoyed this book, just as much as the first book.
Characters: I loved Brienna as a protagonist and loved the inclusion of Cartier’s perspective. I loved that the whole story was not centred on the romance, but there was just enough to make you swoon. However there are soooo many characters and it’s hard to keep track, thank goodness for the guide in the front of the book. I loved a lot of the new characters that were introduced, however I do wish the villains had a bit more dimension.
Plot: the storyline was great and full of action, however I will say that some of the pacing was a bit odd. Some things were a bit toooo convenient. However, I loved how the whole story wrapped up.
Writing: having just finished Kingdom of Ash, I did find that this book was written for a bit of a younger audience, like some of the writing was really obvious and things were explained directly to the reader , rather than letting ya figure it out.
Overall I enjoyed it !
