Ruination

2.5 stars.
Yeah, I liked it. It has good worldbuilding and it's overall a good story.
I could have done with a lot less exclamation points: the dialogues were particularly painful. Every! statement! had! to be! emphasized! with a fucking! exclamation point! It felt like reading a middle grade book.
I could have done with a lot less conveniences

Grael happened to get promoted just at the right time when Kal happened to be making a trip to the Blessed Isles to find the healing waters. Grael also, thanks to that very convenient promotion, happened to stumble upon a 100 years old corpse that's been left forgotten in an underground room that no one conveniently visited, who happened to have the key to the well on him...and of course, being the conveniently brilliant student that he was, Grael took zero time to figure out what that key opened and where the well was.I'm exhausted.
