The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager
3.0
challenging dark emotional mysterious tense slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Although I finished this book pretty quickly as well, I didn't enjoy this one as much as Lock Every Door and Final Girls. It was a slow build up, which I understand is to build up the atmosphere and story, but it wasn't as captivating. There were definitely some twists that I didn't see coming and it did feel almost like Emma's accusations to who had done it were my own suspicions. Until we find out what Franny and Theo know about Emma, the book was a bit boring. I also kind of wish the ending was different. So far, this was my least favorite of the Sager books I have read. It was an interesting plot but not as enjoyable as the others.
