This was...ok. It is exactly what it says it is...it will give you feels. nit the warm, fuzzy kind. The push and pull between Lucky and her family, the disaster that is Lucky and Nisha. It was realistic to the challenges that LGBT POC face; the struggle between being yourself and being the person your family wants you to be. I liked the insight into Sri Lankan culture. It was a bit slow and plodding, very internal and Lucky-centered. I find myself wanting to compare it to Emma Donoghue's Hood. They are similar in tone, though Hood is way more depressing and ends with a bit more hope than this.
