Pirate Stew
by Neil Gaiman
I like to think Neil Gaiman can do no wrong, but alas, that isn’t the case. This book was
terrible. Parents go out for the evening and the babysitter for their two kids is a pirate,
and his fellow pirate friends. Together they make a pirate stew that will turn anyone who
eats it into a pirate. The illustrations are garish, good for a pirate book, I guess, BUT the
story in written in rhyme and I kept losing the rhythm of the rhyme which made it an
unpleasant experience.
