Had to take a break from this at the halfway mark. Way too much like real life and very depressing. However, I did pick it back up to finish it the week of the election because I was curious to see if Doctorow had a plausible scenario for how we get ourselves out of this climate change mess. The story really picked up when Brooks started taking some action. And I found it intriguing that Doctorow didn't have an easy solution but did have some knuckle-down, boots-on-the-ground, guerilla solutions that may be more realistic than anything we can do now. Nothing will be easy but it can be done.
