The Hollow by Jessica Verday

The first thing that disappointed me about this book was the characters. The main characters, Abbey and Caspian, especially. They were both really blah. Caspian was extremely unbelievable and a boring enigma. He had no 'pow' and I actually didn't care to learn about his deep, dark secret. He just didn't intrigue me at all. And the fact that Abbey falls for him without any hesitation or any questions asked at all makes her a very unlikeable character. And again, very unbelievable. Then there was the plot which wasn't really there at all. It was devoid of direction and goal, bland, boring and lacking in every way. There were too many strands and way too many lose ends. Originally I was drawn to this book because of the fact that it was sort of based on Washington Irving's 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow'. It even takes place in Sleepy Hollow. But that wasn't even enough to make it tolerable to me. I was sorely disappointed all around.
