Beautifully written and really captures the 1970s. Excellent character development, particularly Cushla's mum who I thought was particularly well-drawn, and Davey, who I loved. My only minor criticism is that I wish I'd felt more intensity from Cushla and Michael's relationship, and more warmth in her and Gerry's friendship, although my suspicions about Gerry turned out to be correct.

Overall an excellent read - a real insight into the day to day impact of sectarian conflict during the Troubles and a favourite of mine so far this year
