Red Fox by Karina Halle

description

The Experiment in Terror is the perfect series to get you out of your book slump. This series has the right amount of action, paranormal activity, romance and character development. Both Perry and Dex are becoming favorite characters of mine because they are so intriguing and very unique. These two are a perfect duo and I love their teasing and collaboration. Nowadays, I find it very difficult to find series that focuses on one couple that keeps me interested throughout the whole series. But I think I found a winner with this series. I am a very picky reader and I look for books with original plots, and interesting characters. Karina Halle didn't disappoint with this book, I liked Red Fox more than I did Darkhouse, because I always struggle with starting a new series where the story and characters need to be set up.

What I liked most about this book was the subject of the story. I am a huge fan of anything Native American related and I really enjoyed how Karina tackled the story. I predicted a couple of things pretty early on the story, I do wish it was a bit more unpredictable but that didn't take away from how awesome this book was. I also loved seeing both Perry and Dex grow as individuals but also as partners. There is little bit of romance but it is more in the background, which I am happy about. The investigation of paranormal happenings is in my opinion more important than romance in this series. There are enough romance books I can dive into if I want straight up romance. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
