Rio and Hallie completely stole my heart. I’ve absolutely loved everything Liz Tomforde has written, so I had no doubt she’d find a way to make one of my least favorite tropes—second chance romance—feel fresh and meaningful. And she totally did.
This story was such a beautiful take on healing. It showed how time can help soothe some wounds, but others require us to really face them, through hard, honest conversations, especially with the people we love (and probably always will).
What stuck with me most was how they never truly gave up on each other, no matter how much life or circumstance tried to pull them apart. The connection between them was just that strong.
I could go on and on about all the things I loved, but honestly, I have no notes. It was the perfect ending to the Windy City series, and exactly the kind of emotional, full-circle story I didn’t know I needed.
