The first story moves slow but it’s the shortest one - I promise if you push through you will be reading one of the most beautiful fantasy series that has ever been written.
To say that I am in love with Stephen King’s writing is to be very lighthearted and quick to the point, but I love his writing so much I have read almost everything he’s published, and I got married at The Stanley because it inspired The Shining, which is my all-time favorite story.
The Dark Tower is a journey of self-reflection, love, friendship, forgiveness, and sacrifice. This series has caused me to shed tears, be angry, root for true love, and beg for things to be different. It’s Meta in a way that isn’t narcissistic but intelligent, and it’s a mind-fuck for the ages.
There is damn-near nothing better than The Dark Tower. A journey I have made several times before, and will make several times again.
