I really enjoyed this story. I loved the parallels between Olive and Amanda. At first Amanda was not my favorite character, I found her needy and couldn't relate to her lack of self confidence. I related to Olive better. But by the end I had a better understanding of Amanda and was please with how she strengthened as a character. Olive too, grew during the story and seeing them both mature and come into themselves in different timelines was great. I really liked the history of New York and the highlights on women's issues in the early 1900's.
