I am so pleasantly surprised by Here With Me. I’ve wanted to get into this series for a while but was put off by Book 1 having the age gap and ex-boyfriend’s dad tropes. I often find that a bit uncomfortable, and it’s just not for me. It’s usually someone with a really horrible son, and then I feel terrible that they have such an awful relationship with their father. Reading Here With Me was genuinely pretty lovely. Though there were still parts of those tropes that made me a bit hesitant, I genuinely loved the characters and loved them together and that made it easy to forget the awkward bits!
I like that there was a good mixture of drama & tension with the romance. There is some very real and deep tragedy in this book, juxtaposed with pure love and affection. It was really lovely to read. The family scenes were probably my favourite, and I can’t wait to read about all of Noah’s brothers. I’d marry into this family if I could.
I’m looking forward to Book 2, and I can’t wait to be back on the ranch.
