Rin is such a fascinating character. What a gruesome, action packed, incredible tale following a woman who comes from nothing and everyone around her tries to remind her of that. But Rin is someone and she is special. As her powers started to develop it was like watching a movie. Kuang has a brilliant and cinematic way of writing. I was a struggle to put this book down. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series though, unfortunately, I believe I know how it is going to end. That being said, I know this will be one of my favorites for a long time.
