The War I Finally Won by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley
5.0

Ever since I read “The War That Saved My Life” earlier this year and LOVED it, I have been searching for another book that I would enjoy just as much with no luck. I can’t even explain why the first book was so wonderful and why it has meant so much to me, but every time I’ve gone to pick up another book I’ve thought about just reading it again. I was absolutely THRILLED when I saw that there was a sequel and started it within hours. Despite my excitement, I was pretty certain it wouldn’t be able to live up to the first. (To date, I have not enjoyed another book as much) I was wrong! I don’t know how she did it but Kimberly Brubaker Bradley made me feel the same love for this book as she did the first. My emotions were stirred in ways I can’t explain, I fell in love with the characters even more than before, and I felt myself growing along with them as a read. Like I said, I can’t really explain what is so wonderful about these books to me, but the best I can do when I’ve asked my husband for help in finding other books like it is this: “I want another book that has a story I can’t stop reading, characters I love like family, and one that, as I read it, I find myself working more and more to become a better person.”
