Mémoire de fille by Annie Ernaux

5.0

Nobel Prize-winning for a reason. Sometimes brutal but so painfully real. My life is nothing like Ernaux’s, yet every page felt like looking in the mirror. She describes girlhood and womanhood so masterfully, so carefully. The way she crafts the narrative truly does justice to the experience of entering adulthood as a woman. My favorite of the year, for sure.
