When I realized this was a fictional account inspired by the Slenderman case, which took place less than 50 miles from my home, I was unsure if I wanted to read it. The case received so much press, both locally and nationally. But it turned out to be quite a page turner and better than expected. The outline of the crime is in the book, but the fictional details took the story in interesting directions.
