I like this more than I like the anime for the simple reason that it adds way more, so much more. The manga moves slower than the anime, but it adds more. Here we see more how Hori and Miyamura’s relationship progresses and it flows better than in the anime. I think my favorite part is how we actually get to see the friendship between the characters early on and more of a friendship between Miramura and Hori.

Like, Miyamura gets sick and Hori and Ishikawa go to visit him and take care of him. Miyamura becomes an older brother for Souta and helps him in a bullying situation. Yuki’s small crush on Miyamura. AND THE SCHOOL TRIP! I loved seeing them bond and help each other out. Miyamura’s gift to Hori. The second contact kiss.

Miyamura is very attached to his whole persona and I can’t wait to see how they explore that in the manga. One of the reasons why I wanted to read the manga is because I wanted to get to know more the main characters and the side characters, so I can’t wait to see that.

It is a bit hard going into this with zero expectations after watching the anime, like, I can’t question why does Miyamura act the way he does or why is Hori basically the head of the house, but I do think I will like how they explore it in the manga more given that so far I like how they have touched on it.

Overall, I love it. It was the first manga I read in a physical copy (thank you public library for this!), and it was fun and cute and just ugh so amazing. Given how busy I am lately or how my mind cannot do a lot of things, this was actually nice to get through and I feel great about it.
