The Watchers
by A.M. Shine
You had me, then you lost me.
This started out well, was very atmospheric, and kept me wanting to read on, despite the fact that there were a lot of unanswered questions.
Then we get to the "You're hinting that this might be what's going on, but I hope not because that doesn't make sense" bit, when I was relieved to see that what I thought might be the case was not in fact right.
Unfortunately, that was quickly followed by "Oh, you have gone for that, and its just not believable".
The final chapter does go some way to remedy this, but still disappointing.
Oh, and referring to the parrot as "the yellow one" every time it's mentioned gets very annoying very quickly.
