I am interested in the existentialism but I think some of this book is muddied by the colonialist lens. A good part of the existentialism and absurdism seems rooted in Europe's progressive loss of colonies. The other one is in man's loss of control being seen as unfair, the man who beat his wife and then the man who beat his dog, and then being upset when the victim does not simply submit. The latter is maybe done on purpose but especially the colonist lens I don't think so
