An intriguing story with great world building. The descriptions of the environment and the characters were detailed and clear without being too overwhelming or boring.

Sorcha was independent, strong willed and ultimately kind, she had a good soul and was filled with curiousity. I really liked her as a character. She had a unique way of experiencing her world, both a sense of wonder and belief as well as a level of practicality and common sense. She really did just feel like she cared a lot and wanted to help.

Eamonn was an interesting character and I'm still a little unsure of him, I can't tell if he's going to ultimately end up being good or bad. He seems to have good moral and ethics in theory surrounding his view of what should be his people but his behaviour doesn't quite match that at times. He is quick to anger, he is closed off and difficult to read and his behaviours really fluctuate which makes it a bit confusing to get a good understanding of who he is or will end up being. But I'm intrigued to know how he develops further in the next book.

I'm invested in the story now and want to know what will happen next for both Sorcha and Eamonn individually and together and to their worlds.
