Albatross by Terry Fallis
5.0

I'm torn between 4 and 5 stars for this book, but I'm going with 5 because I don't think I'll stop thinking about this book for a while! Constantly thinking about a book is one of my criteria for 5 stars :)

Ariel Bissett over on Booktube recommended this book in her great books for binging video. And I read this in 3 days so yeah I'd say it was very binge worthy! I haven't cried from a book in a while, but Albatross did it! DO NOT CLICK THE SPOILER without reading this, I'm sharing what made me cry!
SpoilerBobbie's sacrifice made me tear up hard, but then her funeral made me CRY!

This book follows Adam's rise to fame because of his extreme natural gift for golf, and what happens as a result of his indifference for golf and his love for creative writing. I also want to be a writer (but publishing isn't exactly my end goal) so it was great fun to empathize with his struggles to want to write and move people.

It was kinda funny to read this book right after An Absolutely Remarkable Thing (another book about rising to fame very suddenly). But I enjoyed this more, because of the passion for writing.

I loved the easy writing style, I loved the chapter cliffhangers, and I LOVED Bobbie Davenport. I won't forget her or Adam for a long time I think. I might have to buy a fountain pen, just to see what all the fuss is about!

I think my only like "aww thats too bad" moment was
Spoilerthat the title never came into play, like Adam never hit an Albatross, that would have been fun!
. But other than that, this book was SO FUN! Give it a try!
