This is a dark romance, with a twisted MMC. He’s portrayed as a psychopath and in the trigger warnings the author states that he is truly dark, leading me to believe he has no redeeming qualities. Yet, when he meets the FMC Glyndon he starts to feel something.

By the end of the book, they’ve both said the L word. So, I disagree with the author statement. I don’t believe he’s a true psychopath. He is intriguing enough to make me finish the book, and I found him much more endearing than the FMC (I’m not sure what that says about my own mental state!).

It’s an easy, relatively quick KU read. Entertaining, with some decent and dark spice, but I wouldn’t say the spice is majorly taboo. There’s a bit of non-con, some spanking, hand necklaces, but nothing that shocked me.

The characters are likeable enough despite - or because of - their flaws, and I liked that he made up with his family at the end and that Glyndon came into her own because of Killian.
