Did this as part of the tandem read. I had heard that this book enhances Empire of Storms, and I definitely feel the emotional payoff of the tandem read is better than reading them separately. The reveals in this mean so much more because you are still in the thick of the other book. It also made me actually like Chaol again, watching him work through and battle his demons, with the cast of characters introduced in this book there to build upon our crew of misfits. I honestly loved it.
