This book, although infuriating at times (necessarily) i couldn’t put down. CH has a knack for writing chapters that grab you from the start and won’t let you go until you read the next one… and the next one until it’s 2 am and you’re staring at a wall.

I would’ve preferred more of a payoff with the “villain” and the “confrontation” but it was still great.

! not really spoilers but discussing a few reasons why it wasn’t a 5 star for me !

I wish I knew more about Jeremy!! He seems very sus and the unreliable narration from both women don’t give us much to go off.

I wish however there was more of an excuse for her slow paced read of the chapters. I think anyone else would’ve just sped through those if they were that curious but it took her WEEKS. like having the office without a lock and people walking in and her having to hide it more often?

also wish there was MORE “thriller” elements and cut down the romance by like 20%

UPDATE 2024
I re-read parts of this book since I read it pretty quickly and that tends to alter your brain and how you actually thought of something.

It is pretty poor writing, for someone who writes romance the romance aspects were just so off putting lol. The protagonist is so insufferable, the plot is interesting but the interesting elements are overshadowed by the grossly weird romance and writing. Initially I gave this a 4 stars because I was entertained by it, and I still am but now I see it is not an excellent novel, but an interesting plot that is written so you will keep reading chapters because the protagonist is so darn slow that you HAVE TO KEEP READING TO GET SOMETHING DONE
