The Storyteller's Daughter: A Retelling of the Arabian Nights by Cameron Dokey

2.0

"A story is alive, as you and I are"

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from this book, but I wasn't expecting it to be this bad. I hate bashing on books because the authors put so much time and effort in creating their stories, but I don't have anything good to say about this.

So many things were wrong with this book. The writing was dry, the characters had no depth, nothing was fleshed out and almost nothing happened in just over 200 pages.

I was hoping for something that would make me want to continue on with the series, but all it did was make me want to DNF this book. The only reason I did finish it was because I was doing a 24 hour readathon. Since I wanted to DNF the first book, I'm definitely not going to continue on with the series and waste more of my time.

Overall, I did not like anything about this book. The only reason it didn't get a one star rating is because one stars are reserved for my DNFs.
