Kingdom of the Feared by Kerri Maniscalco
5.0
➸Trigger Warnings for Abandonment, Blood depiction, Grief & loss, Murder, Kidnapping & captivity, War theme
Kingdom of the Feared is the final book in one of my favorite series that I've read in the last year. It starts off about an hour or two after the conclusion of the previous book. Over a year, I've waited for this book to come out, and my expectations were quite high, and for the first time in possibly ever, my expectations were actually fulfilled.
This book is very smutty, especially in comparison to the previous books in the series. I was finding myself thinking, "Who are these characters?, and "Is this the same author?"
The characters were possibly at their best that they've been, Emilia is such a badass and I'm in love. Wrath was even better, he wasn't the same man I had mixed feelings about throughout the previous two books.
The revelations were jaw dropping, the book was littered with them. Due to the fact it spoils, spoilers will be discussed at the end and hidden.
My brain was screaming in regards to some of these.
I didn't really have a problem with the ending but I had two other endings in my mind which I probably would have preferred (which will also be discussed in the spoilers section.
Overall, a brilliant book that concludes one of my favourite series. It was like everything had increased in a positive way.
