Cubs & Campfires by Dylan Drakes
5.0
Luca Torres is interviewing for the role of a lifetime. There’s just one problem - his journalism style is much too risqué for mainstream media. In an effort to grasp an opportunity he proposes his craziest story idea to days - a summer of celibacy…
Coming to terms with this new summer reality, Luca realises the only way he can achieve this is to hide from society and take a job deep in the woods as a watchman, protecting the woods of Seattle from fire.
Surely this deep in the woods there would be no temptation, right?
So, I was lucky enough to also best read this book before reading the ARC, and I loved it then and loved it even more this time around!
We love a beary romance, but throw in the the initial celibacy shenanigans, the cutesy characters, a fox, and the great outdoors, it creates a cozy vibe that immerses you in the story.
The cast of characters are well rounded (pun not intended), with each having enough of a backstory to make them feel real. Sandy is still an incredible character and I want more of her in my life!
I love how this is low angst, which often feels forced and takes from the story, whereas here the story flows easily, the steamy scenes are not overloaded (or are they?
