Talking with Serial Killers: A chilling study of the world's most evil people by Christopher Berry-Dee
3.0
This book was very facinating and gave a nice overview of several serial killers. I enjoyed how Chris gave a broad history and almost backstory of a person before he went into the details of what lead up to the crime. He essentially explains why a that person is almost why the way they are which was very interesting. I liked how there was picture in the middle of the book to see their faces and get a real idea of the person. I liked the use of quotes and use of the law cases fully explaining the details for each person.
Something I really didn't like was that these people were referred to as monsters and inhuman. When of course it is absolutely awful things they have done but I don't think it is right to refer to then as something other than human. The main point that needs to be made is that humans do commit horrific acts and that's why it is so scary as they're not so fully different to the average person walking on the street.
I didn't like how this book is called talking with serial killers when there was little interview talk and it read more biographical than anything else. I wanted proper interview style back and forth to get a real idea of the person and why they did the crimes.
Of course it was fascinating and I enjoyed learning about these people and their horrendous acts I just wanted more from it.
