Hopeful and entertaining, but I recommend treating it as a satire at times. The author has a lot of unique ideas and concepts, but her technical writing skills are lacking. Themes are not subtle, and her messages are stated outright instead of allowing readers to pick up on it themselves. There are some political messages that are shoehorned in awkwardly as off-topic tangents rather than developed. In my opinion, the book reads as shallow because everything is bluntly stated so there's not really any deeper messages to consider. Overall, I think the author is very creative and has potential, but her lackluster writing is disappointing.
Graphic: Emotional abuse, Animal cruelty, Animal death, Body horror, Violence, Child abuse, Sexism, and Physical abuse
Moderate: Gun violence, Blood, and Death of parent
Minor: Child death, Sexual harassment, and Sexual assault
