This book exceeded my expectations, and I enjoyed listening to this book. I thought the book talked about death in a meaningful and accessible way to children. It didn't shy away from talking about the animals hunting one another to survive and one's mortality. I also appreciated the nod to climate change. There is a lot of emotions that I think many people can relate to, even as an adult. I wish the sound effects were carried out throughout the audiobook, not just in the beginning. Narration was lovely and the narrator decided to do different voices for each of the characters. Not going to lie, I disliked the voice they did for Bright Beak because I found it grating. Overall, I thought it was a really cool book with a well-executed concept.
