My Brother's Husband: Volume 2 by Gengoroh Tagame
4.0

In this second volume of My Brother's Husband, the story of Yaichi, Kana, and their visit from Yaichi's brother-in-law, Mike continues. Mike continues to discover and connect with Ryoki's past with the help of Yaichi, Kana and Natsuki. Yaichi comes to the realization that being gay is just another way of living, that there's nothing wrong with it, and that he wants Kana to feel safe if she were to fall in love with a woman. In the meantime, Mike and Kana's bond grows stronger, even with the heartbreak of Mike going back to Canada on the horizon.

Just like the first volume, this novel keeps up on the same battle Yaichi had in the first: just how can he show his support? He was never outright against it when his brother came out, but he also never really addressed/supported it either. He kind of battles with what he did through the story and how he's going to change that now and for the future.

Kana is still just as bubbly as in the first one and still oh so excited to introduce everyone to her Canadian Uncle. How she is learning about the world is super cute and Yaichi does a wonderful job at parenting her. He never makes her feel dumb for not understanding something and will try and explain it in a way that will help her understand.

I'm sad to see the story end, but it did wrap up in a good way. In my mind I'm picturing Yaichi and Kana going and visiting Mike in Canada in a few years and running around there together. It leaves you with a hope for the future.
