The Master Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg

4.0

I enjoyed reading this series immensely. It was creative, to the point, and interesting. Ms. Holmberg did a terrific job avoiding cliches and making it seem realistic. The main character, Ceony, developed a special ability that was thought impossible. However, Ceony didn't develop it because she was super powerful and super special. It developed by learning it from someone else and then actively working on it. The romance was slow and cute. I don't like romance too much, but I liked it in this story. She also experienced unfortunate consequences for her actions.

I wish the series was longer and I wish we spent more time in between the Big Plot Events. Between book 2 and book 3 was nearly a year and a half. I would have enjoyed seeing Ceony grow and develop into her magic.
