this book reminds me of circe. it is a slow start which is in line with all the tie that passes prior to the height of the character's story. but it really took time for me to care. and in the end, I mostly cared about the "villain". I was really into the darkness/luke. I liked him the moment he was introduced and was bummed at his character's journey throughout the book. though I am sure it says more about me than the plot of the book.

however I really liked the ending, I think that made up for the slow first half of the book. I do think this is a bit overrated.
