From Third World to First: Singapore and the Asian Economic Boom by Lee Kuan Yew

4.0

I always wondered how Singapore became what it was today against the odds it faced in its inception.

And the answers lie in a clear and extensive manner in this book.

The way Singapore has grown leaps and bounds under this man, is simply astounding. The kind is the life lessons this journey gives to us are simply awesome.

In the words of Mr. Lee,'There are books to teach you how to build a house, how to repair engines how to write a book. But I have not seen a book on how to build a nation out of a disparate collection of immigrants from China, British India and the Dutch East Indies, or how to make a living for its people'.

Wish India had such a leader during Independence or in 1960s/70s/80s. To our misfortune, in the period of 75 years, we have got only one during 91-96, another during 99-04 and third one from 2014-present day.
