Family Family
by Laurie Frankel
What makes a family, a complicated question when there are so many varieties. India wants to be an actress, determined to make a good college in New York to be near Broadway. When her plans seem derailed by an unplanned pregnancy, India approaches the pregnancy as an opportunity to help someone else. As the book proceeds through her college years, and after as an actress, India has more iterations of family and children which seem to be untraditional. As the media haunts her choices, India tries to protect her children while learning to redefine her family. Highly recommend this book that is at times quirky, at times heartwarming, and even troubling. Thanks to Edelweiss for the ARC.
