The Haunting of Maddy Clare by Simone St. James
5.0
Great Ghost Story!
I usually don’t read ghosts stories but its October and it’s Halloween soon and I feel the need to read a bunch of spooky books this month.
This book mixes a classic ghost story, a bit of romance, had a a who did it plot, and has a strong female lead.
Sarah is hired by Alistair, a wealthy man that writes books about his ghosts huntings. He needs a woman for his next ghost adventure since that partially ghost does not accept men. They are going to the country side and while there, Sarah encounters her first ghost, named Maddy. Maddy is a raging ghost. Sarah wants to find out what happened to Maddy. Why is she so upset and haunts the Innkeepers? And why did she kill herself? Allistairs assistant Matthew also shows up and Sarah can’t shake the feeling he is wanting her to leave. Because he is usually doing all the work.
