The book itself is an easy read but is problematic. The main character Evelyn is a nice quiet book loving white girl, whilst her love interest Noelle is a trouble making, rowdy, basketball loving, aggressive and mean black girl. You see the difference??
Noelle is probably the only poc in this book and 'coincidentally' is also the only one described as mean and aggressive. everyone else in this book, even her best friend, are all nice white kids.
maybe it is coincidental but this book is problematic and has multiple micro aggressions written into it.
