My main complaint is poooooor pacing, should’ve gone to New York sooner ,

discovered his true relationship to Orkideh

, etc. There were definitely interesting portions but they felt a bit rushed and the surrounding comparatively boring parts felt drawn out.
After reading someone on Reddit(LOL)s theory that

he dies after chapter 22

the story takes on a new dimension that makes it muuuuch more interesting but honestly I don’t know if I could’ve ever gotten to that on my own. I think the author should have leaned into that a bit more if that was the intended interpretation.
