Trickster's Girl
by Hilari Bell
When I first read the synopsis of this book it intrigued me. I feel like I read the synopsis wrong though.
Hilari Bell's writing was great, I loved that part of the book. However, I wasn't able to really get into the whole idea of magic, Raven, and Native American mythology. It just did not interest me. I wish that a few of the 'futuristic gadgets' had been explained more too. I was confused as to what exactly some of the things were, such as a tab.
As for the characters, I did not feel very close to Raven and I was disappointed because he was a big part of the story. I kind of wish there was a prologue about his myth or something to give me more insight on him. Kelsa was okay, I didn't find her extremely interesting, but she was not a bad character either.
Overall the plot line did not interest me and I was not able to finish the book. I will say that I will look into any books that Hilari produces in the future because I really did like her writing; I just hope they have a different topic.
