This book was really cute and I loved the main characters D'Vaughn and Kris. They were so cute especially when D'vaughn didn't realize that Kris was actually interested in being with her. It was so funny. I liked how they were always there for each other even as they were literally getting to know each other and planning their wedding together. They really were a great couple.
I really liked D'Vaughn's coming out scene. I thought it was handled beautifully and the immediate fallout was great. Like her reaction to her mom telling her she always knew but never hinted that she knew or even that it was okay if she was, was so real. That would be so frustrating and I completely understand why she was so mad about it.
There were a couple things that bothered me though. First, I felt like after D'Vaughn came out, it wasn't addressed again through the rest of the story. She was so angry that her mom already knew but then that feeling just disappeared and then her mom was hesitant to be okay with it and I didn't see that after the initial reaction either. This kind of ties in with the second thing that bothered me. I felt like there wasn't enough drama or it wasn't high enough stakes. I liked that there wasn't a third-act breakup but I still felt like there should have been some kind of drama or something.
I think this book would be perfect for people who are just looking for a cute, fun, low-stakes read.
