Divergent Mind: Thriving in a World That Wasn't Designed for You by Jenara Nerenberg

3.5
There were good moments in this book but overall it felt like it was trying to cover too much and didn’t go into depth about most of it. I found some of the language outdated with nothing to note why the author chose certain phrases. I also found a lot of it focused on being able to achieve high levels of success instead of accepting neurodivergents may have different capacities. It could be read as hopeful - showing that we can do anything (which is positive messaging, and should be more prevalent) - but it also read as disregarding the need to understand what each individual is capable of. Success and high achievement isn’t the only path to a happy life.
I’m torn because I was excited to read this one but it didn’t deliver.
